Wanda Faye Mills

Wanda Faye Mills, July 12, 1937 - September 10, 2020, peacefully went to be with our Lord early Thursday morning, September 10, 2020. She was born on July 12, 1937 (a fraternal twin to her brother Weldon), in Littlefield, Texas to O.D. & Dora Dufur. In her young adult years she was married to Sherman Chancey & together had one child, Jeffrey (Jeff). She later married her second husband Wayne Edmiaston who served in the U.S. Air Force and worked in the trucking industry. Together they had a son, Mark. They were married 41 years when Wayne passed away in 2002. In 2003 she married Jim Mills who served in the U.S. Marine Corps., and was a manager for Barber Honda in Bakersfield. They shared a beautiful 17 years of marriage. Wanda grew up in the Earlimart/Delano area, graduating from Delano High School in 1955. In the mid 1960’s, after moving to the Bay Area, Wanda went to work for the Oakland Police Department as a jailer. She moved to Southern California in the early 1970’s where she raised her two sons. She eventually moved to the Bakersfield area in 1977 where she lived her remaining years. Wanda was a sweet, caring and affectionate person who loved her family deeply. She was a devoted Christian, leaning on the Word of God which gave her spiritual strength and a cheerful outlook throughout her life. Wanda loved to read, had quite a green thumb, and loved embroidery, producing beautiful quilts and blankets. Wanda & Jim enjoyed visiting the Central Coast, especially Morro Bay. Her sweet nature always included an affectionate kiss on the cheek for her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, O. D. & Dora Dufur, her older brother Orville Brady & her twin brother Weldon. She leaves behind her husband Jim, sister Angie (Don) Pease, her brother Dale (Pat) Dufur, & her sister in-law Mary (Orville) Brady, her sons, Jeff (Rosemary) Edmiaston, Mark Edmiaston, and step-daughters, Leigh (Scott) Beattie, Carole (Danny) Barnes, Diane (John) Harris, & step-son Tim Mills. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Sabrina (Edmiaston) Roman, Tiffany (Edmiaston) Ruiz, Tamara (Edmiaston) Pack, Ryan J. Edmiaston, William Beattie, Russell Beattie, and Edward Beattie and great- grandchildren. May she Rest in Eternal Peace in Jesus’ Loving Embrace!&#55356;�
