3/27/2009 – 6/2/2020 Leilah Johnson Obituary Leilah LaVail Johnson was born March 27, 2009 in Bakersfield California to the parents of Shantel Hunter and LaVail Johnson. Leilah was such a beautiful little girl. From the time she turned 1 we knew she was special. We would call her just to talk to her on the phone, her response would be I call you right back, that met I’m done leave me alone. When she began kindergarten at Stine Elementary, she started to take on a new attitude. She was so determined to learn, it was amazing to watch her sponge up education. Leilah was attending Almondale Elementary where she played sports. It was so amazing to see her play, (basketball and volleyball) when she would run track everybody in the stands would stand up to watch her running hard and still smiling. She fell in love with every sport she tried, she excelled to the top of her game. Leilah loved sleep overs with her friends. All of her friend’s parents fell in love with her and always wanted to go to her different events. Leilah was learning to cook, she was told by her grandmother, Lenora Hunter that she was going to out cook all of the family because she was so curious about everything she made. We could go on and on about what a wonderful soul she is…...
