David Joseph Strauser

September 4, 1950 - September 4, 2020

David Joseph Strauser Born on September 04, 1950 in Roxbury, Massachusetts, Dave returned to his heavenly home on his 70th birthday September 4, 2020 in Bakersfield, California. His absence from this earth has left us shocked and saddened. However, we find peace in knowing that he is basking in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and thrilled to be racing the streets of gold! We trust in the promise that we will see his beaming smile and embrace his gentle spirit again someday. David was the loving and devoted father of Syndi Lynn Strauser, JoDee Sheree (Strauser) Alexander, and Shaun David Strauser, and proud to be 'Grandpa Mustache' to his three grandchildren Ellijah Scott Strauser, Nason Kane Alexander, and Shylah Jan Alexander. Dave is also survived by his first and best friends, brothers Phil Strauser (Rhea) and Steve Strauser; and sister Sue Winters (Jess); as well his Aunt Mary 'Dolly'; many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends including his brother in Christ and respected friend Dan Barbarian. With a passion for God and motorcycles, it was common for Dave to be out riding almost every Sunday morning. A ride to the mountains for breakfast with his buddies or even a quick day trip to the beach was his 'church' and prayer time with the Lord. Dave was greeted at the pearly gates by his Dad, Philip Strauser; Mom, Josephine Strauser and wife of 30 years Janice Strauser, as well as many family members and friends who were there to welcome him home in heaven. Special Thank you to Greg Heiss and the Euro Riders of Kern for organizing a processional ride from Mission Family Mortuary to Hillcrest Memorial Park (meeting at 8:30 a.m. and leaving at or around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning). We are also grateful to the Euro Riders for honoring our dad with the first annual Dave Strauser Memorial Ride to be held at 4 p.m., Saturday September 26. Beginning the ride at The Adventure Center (3808 Chester Ave.) they will make their way over to Ethyl's at about 5:30. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride (gentlemansride.com) are requested in consideration of Dave’s interest in the organization and it's cause.
