Cora Fierro Moya December 20, 1928 – August 21, 2021 Born in Tehachapi, California on December 20, 1928 to Francisco Fierro and Maria Valenciano, Cora left us after 92 years to be with the Lord on August 21, 2021. Cora is survived by her sisters Jennie Munoz, Margaret Pinal, and Ruth Rodriguez; her brothers Frank and Joe Jimenez; her son Thomas Piceno and daughter Rachel Piceno Parle; and her 7 grandchildren. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her enduring love and devotion for her family and friends. Cora retired after more than 50 years as a salesperson at the venerable Guarantee Shoe Center in downtown Bakersfield. Her life’s passion was following, supporting, and participating in the exploits and achievements of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was immensely proud of each of them and her love for them was boundless. Her sense of humor was ever-present and she was always ready to share in a good time. She was particularly fond of making the trip to Las Vegas to play her favorite slot machines. A visitation will be held at Saint Francis Church on Thursday, September 2, at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. There will be a memorial mass held at Saint Francis Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, immediately followed by a reception at the church. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Saint Francis Church of Bakersfield in Cora's name.
