Lillian Beauregard Maloney

ILIANE MARIE PAULINE MERCEDES BEAUREGARD MALONEY November 26, 1932 – June 23, 2024 Bakersfield – Liliane Liliane Marie Pauline Mercedes Beauregard Maloney, fondly known as Lil, Lillian, Mom, G-ma, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024. Lillian was ninety-one years old. Lillian led a life of love, volunteering, and endless devotion to her family. She loved tennis, cooking and gathering with friends and family, playing Bridge, the Golden State Warriors, classical music, knitting blankets and scarves, playing cards, musicals, any great drama, reading, history, and never passed up an opportunity to flex her luck at the casinos. More than anything, family was her greatest accomplishment and she always kept them central in her life. From her children to grandchildren to her great grandchildren, Lillian held no greater joy than hearing and watching them grow and blossom. Lillian led by example, volunteering endless hours at the hospital gift shop and Guild House over her years on earth. Lillian was born to Liliane and Theodore Beauregard on November 26, 1932 in Montreal, Quebec Canada. Lillian was the middle child, with two brothers. Lillian moved to Connecticut at age ten, spending most of her lifetime in the United States yet never lost her strong French connection. Lillian attended the University of Connecticut and studied at the University of Paris Sorbonne for one year, solidifying her love of French culture. Lillian moved to California in 1955. Lillian married Joe on July 9, 1955 and had six children. Lillian loved her job, spending 25 years as Judicial Secretary in the Kern County Superior Court. Lillian fulfilled her love of people, helping others, and relished the good legal drama the court system brought daily. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Joseph William (5-2-22), son Kevin Joseph (2-28-2019), daughter Colleen Mary Therese (10-21-1956), her parents Liliane and Theodore Beauregard and brother Theodore. Lillian is survived by her four daughters and son-in-laws: Patty and Jacque Bernardin, Kathy and Martin Etcheverry, Michelle and Joel Broadbent, and Lisa and Brad Berry. Lillian also has nine grandchildren: Jacqueline Bernardin Gomez (Alfonzo), Caitlin Bernardin, Connor (Caroline), Matthew, and Megan Broadbent, Martin Etcheverry Jr., Aidan, Owen, and Beck Berry. Five great-grandchildren round out the family: Gatlin, Brooks, and Shepherd Broadbent and André and Gavin Gomez. Lillian is survived by her brother John Beauregard and several nieces and nephews. Lillian's gracious spirit, warmth, kind heart, positivity, and endless energy will be missed by all but mostly by her tight knit family which she built over her years on earth. We will miss her forever but remain inspired to carry on her legacy with all she taught us. A funeral mass celebrating Lillian's life will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 10am at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. On Friday, July 26, 2024, Lillian will be laid to rest with a private burial at Bakersfield National Cemetery, reuniting her with her husband of almost sixty seven years, Joe. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Lillian's final wish was for all to put sorrow aside and to celebrate her amazing life for which she remained so grateful for until the end. Rest in peace. Reposez en paix.
